About Greencrowding
Interest in greener ways of doing business has grown faster than the plain explanations of it. Greencrowding is an independent publication that tries to supply those explanations without the sales pitch.
The site is organized around four themes that tend to overlap in practice.
Where the coverage goes
Green Business. Articles look at how companies and start-ups try to operate with a smaller footprint, and how that fits with costs, customers and growth. Claims of sustainability are read critically.
Clean Energy. Solar, wind, storage and efficiency are explained for people deciding what they mean for a household or a company. The pieces describe trade-offs, not only benefits.
Sustainable Living. Everyday choices at home, in shopping and in travel are discussed with an eye to what really changes the outcome. Small habits get honest weight, neither dismissed nor inflated.
Environmental Technology. This area covers tools and methods for monitoring, cleaning and conserving, with a note on how mature each one is. Early-stage ideas are described as such.
Who it is for
Founders, small-business owners, households and students of the subject can all use it as a starting point for their own research.
What to expect from the writing
Writing starts from public reports, filings, standards and product documentation. Figures are dated, sources are named in the text, and corrections are made openly when something proves wrong.
Readers are often the first to notice a stale fact. Send corrections for Greencrowding to [email protected], and we will review them and update the article where the correction holds.
